About the role
The Regional Director for the Arab States will lead the United Nations Development Coordination Office’s (UNDCO) regional interface, ensuring effective collaboration across the UN Development System and supporting the Resident Coordinator system in the region.
Key responsibilities
- Lead DCO’s regional coordination and interface with UN agencies, regional mechanisms and the Regional Economic Commission.
- Promote horizontal collaboration across the UN Development System and advance regional platforms for integration.
- Provide field‑facing support to regional and country offices and enable coherent, timely SDG delivery.
- Work closely with senior UN officials, including the Assistant Secretary‑General, Directors of Partnerships, SDG Coordination, and the Chief of the RC System Leadership Branch.
- Support the Resident Coordinator system by coordinating DCO resources and expertise.
