Research & Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist (Jordan)

About the role

The Sustainable Research and Development Center seeks a Research & Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Specialist to design and implement a baseline study in Jordan. The role will guide methodology, develop data collection tools, oversee fieldwork, ensure data quality, and produce evidence‑based reports to inform project planning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the baseline study methodology and detailed workplan.
• Design or refine quantitative and qualitative data collection instruments.
• Support sampling design, fieldwork planning, and coordination with data collection teams.
• Train enumerators and field researchers on tools, ethics, and data quality standards.
• Supervise or support field data collection across target governorates.
• Review, clean, and analyse quantitative and qualitative data.
• Prepare findings and contribute to inception, fieldwork summary, draft, and final baseline reports.
• Support stakeholder analysis, service provider mapping, and community mapping outputs.

Required profile

• University degree in research, statistics, social sciences, development studies, monitoring and evaluation, public policy or a related field.
• 5‑9 years of experience in baseline studies, evaluations, assessments or applied research.
• Strong knowledge of mixed‑method research including surveys, key informant interviews, focus groups and participatory tools.
• Fluency in Arabic and strong English writing skills.
• Understanding of ethical research practices, informed consent, confidentiality and data protection.
• Experience in disability inclusion, protection, social inclusion or community development is an advantage.
