RPA Aircraft Mechanic II – Deployment Pool

About the role

The RPA Mx Aircraft Mechanic II will join a Deployment Pool and support aircraft maintenance missions at various CONUS and OCONUS locations. The role requires flexibility to adapt to changing deployment schedules while ensuring the airworthiness of RPA systems and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily launch and recovery duties to meet operational requirements.
• Inspect, service, repair, and overhaul aircraft, engines, landing gear, power plants, fuel systems, and other critical components.
• Apply technical orders, manufacturers' manuals, and test equipment to diagnose and correct malfunctions.
• Support deployments by traveling to assigned locations and maintaining accurate parts inventory.
• Recommend procedural revisions to improve maintenance efficiency and quality.

Required profile

• Ability to work in a deployment environment with variable schedules.
• Comprehensive technical knowledge of airframe, engine, flight‑control, pneumatic, hydraulic, fuel, electrical and electronic systems.
• Experience interpreting Air Force technical orders and manufacturers' documentation.
• Attention to detail and strong problem‑solving skills for complex maintenance issues.

Required skills

• Aircraft inspection and airworthiness assessment.
• Engine repair and power‑plant maintenance.
• Structural repair of airframes and landing gear.
• Use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, rivet guns and drills.
• Operation of test equipment and diagnostic instruments.
