Senior AI Technical Specialist

About the role

Development Gateway is seeking a senior AI Technical Specialist to lead the integration of artificial intelligence into Jordan’s early‑grade education system. Based in Amman, you will translate fast‑moving AI advances into practical solutions for the Ministry of Education, schools and universities, and communicate their value in clear Arabic and English.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to establish six AI Centers in selected schools, including facility assessment, equipment specification and readiness verification.
• Co‑design and pilot AI sandbox environments in schools and universities, facilitating workshops, training sessions and participatory consultations.
• Monitor and evaluate sandbox pilots, documenting performance, usability, pedagogical relevance and lessons learned.
• Translate pilot results into evidence‑based recommendations for ministry leadership and national scaling strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in AI or emerging technology implementation within an education or public‑sector context.
• Strong ability to engage diverse stakeholders, drive co‑design processes and convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences in both Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English.
• Technical support and sandbox environment setup for AI applications.
