Senior Backend Engineer (.NET / Laravel)

About the role

Foodics is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain high‑performance backend services that power its restaurant management and payment platform. You will work on both .NET‑based microservices and existing PHP Laravel applications, ensuring reliability and scalability at a global scale.

Key responsibilities

• Define and guide the architecture of multiple backend services and web applications.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers across teams.
• Develop, test, and maintain APIs and microservices primarily using .NET/C#.
• Contribute to and improve existing Laravel codebases.
• Write clean, well‑tested, and maintainable code.
• Resolve performance bottlenecks and architectural challenges.
• Integrate data from third‑party systems and databases.
• Enhance system reliability, scalability, and observability.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Research and adopt new technologies, reducing technical debt.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience building large‑scale backend systems.
• Strong expertise in .NET/C# and solid hands‑on experience with PHP Laravel.
• Proven ability to design scalable, high‑availability services.
• Experience with REST APIs, distributed systems, and relational databases.
• Familiarity with caching (Redis), queuing, background jobs, and asynchronous processing.
• Good understanding of SOLID principles and software design patterns.
• Experience in fast‑paced engineering environments; leadership experience is a plus.
