Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect (On-site, Jordan)

About the role

GovCIO is seeking a senior‑level Computer Systems Engineer/Architect to support Special Operations communications in Jordan. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network and system solutions for Department of Defense customers on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Gather information on Company products and competing solutions, staying current with hardware and software developments.
• Generate quantifiable requirements from customer descriptions and ensure compliance through formal verification.
• Translate high‑level product strategies into detailed network and system specifications.
• Establish standards, practices, and procedures for network and system development.
• Design interfaces and integrate network elements to function as a cohesive whole.
• Assess performance using technical metrics and provide recommendations.
• Act as customer liaison for business development and requirement shaping.
• Develop and implement QoS for voice, video, and data environments.
• Use performance‑management tools to troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
• Create conceptual, logical, and physical network architectures with accompanying documentation, test plans, and risk assessments.
• Provide operational support for WAN and LAN technologies, plan network layouts, and analyze topologies and capacity needs.
• Collaborate with DOD customers to fill information gaps and communicate technical solutions.
• Support acquisition of hardware and software and develop detailed logical designs for Gigabit Ethernet, routing, QoS, DMVPN, IPv4, and multicast architectures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent).
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA Linux+ certifications.
• CCNP certification.
• Minimum 3 years of Cisco routing and switching experience with proven proficiency in EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, L3VPN, MPLS, DMVPN, FlexVPN, redistribution, route‑maps, policy‑based routing, AAA, ACLs, VLANs, NAT, and NTP.
• Senior‑level experience with Cisco ISE, VMPS, SolarWinds, Orion, Spectrum, SNMP‑C, SecureCRT, RADIUS/TACACS+, and FWD Networks.
