Senior Credit ECL Analyst

About the role

The Senior Credit ECL Analyst will lead the calculation and reporting of Expected Credit Losses (ECL) across Arab Bank Group entities, ensuring compliance with IFRS 9 standards. The role involves close collaboration with business lines, model vendors, and internal audit teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage periodic and ad‑hoc ECL calculations following approved IFRS 9 methodologies, policies, and procedures.
• Oversee data sourcing, validation, and reconciliation to guarantee accurate inputs for ECL models.
• Own the ECL models and systems, providing expert support to users across head office and country branches.
• Lead model validation, audit activities, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct training sessions on IFRS 9 methodologies, models, and systems.
• Monitor model performance, adjust parameters, and implement methodology updates.
• Prepare analytical dashboards, MIS reports, and regulatory disclosures for senior management.
• Develop test cases, perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and support system enhancements.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a leading bank or consulting firm.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and credit‑accounting knowledge.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
