Senior Data Governance Specialist

About the role

The Senior Data Governance Specialist will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise‑wide data governance frameworks. This role ensures data quality, consistency, and compliance across the organization, supporting strategic decision‑making and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Lead data quality initiatives, metadata management, and master data management (MDM) programs.
• Collaborate with data stewards and business owners to maintain an up‑to‑date business glossary.
• Implement and manage governance platforms such as Microsoft Purview.
• Produce governance reports and dashboards using Power BI.
• Provide guidance on data handling within Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and Databricks environments.
• Support compliance with UAE government, public‑sector, or regulated‑sector regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Management, Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data governance or data management.
• 5+ years of experience implementing enterprise data governance frameworks.
• Experience in UAE government, public‑sector, or regulated‑sector environments is preferred.
• At least one certification such as DP‑900, CDMP, or DAMA.
