Senior Data Officer – Yemen (based in Amman)

About the role

IMPACT Initiatives is seeking a Senior Data Officer to lead quantitative data activities for its Yemen programme, based in Amman. The role will ensure rigorous statistical methods, robust sampling designs, and efficient data workflows across research cycles.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the technical focal point for all data‑related processes within the mission.
• Develop and implement data workflows that guarantee statistical rigour and methodological soundness.
• Advise assessment teams on sampling strategies, research design, and quantitative analysis plans.
• Validate data collection tools and create cleaning and analysis scripts.
• Produce analytical outputs such as dashboards, summary tables, and statistical briefs.
• Line‑manage at least one Data Officer and support their technical development.
• Coordinate with the Research Manager and assessment teams to align priorities and deadlines.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in quantitative methodology, statistics, and sampling design.
• Proven ability to design, implement, and oversee data workflows in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Experience leading and mentoring data staff.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to methodological detail.
