Senior Finance Assistant – General Accounts (PEP)

About the role

UNRWA’s Jordan Field Office is seeking a Senior Finance Assistant to support the Parallel Education Programme (PEP) within the General Accounts section. The role ensures accurate financial processing, reporting and compliance for PEP activities across the agency.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up and act on transactions related to the Parallel Education Programme (PEP) and ensure alignment with programme budgets.
• Perform accounting transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, fees and reconciliations between the REACH ERP system and the Student Registration System (SRS).
• Maintain and categorise all PEP records in general and subsidiary ledgers and draft related documentation.
• Assist the Finance Officer in preparing monthly and quarterly reviews of PEP ledgers and coordinate with stakeholder departments.
• Serve as the focal point for PEP within the Jordan Field Office’s financial system and reporting.
• Conduct PEP accounting transactions and coordinate with TVET & FESA as required.
• Support compliance with UNRWA financial policies, regulations and provide input for business process improvements.

Required profile

• Reports to the Finance Officer – General Accounts (A16) and may supervise a Finance Assistant (A10).
• Works in an office environment with access to telephone, PC, internet and occasional local travel.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the REACH ERP system.
• Experience using the Student Registration System (SRS) for financial reconciliations.
• Strong accounting and ledger management skills.
