About the role
The Senior Finance Associate will support resource management functions in Amman, Jordan, providing procedural guidance, supervising finance staff, and ensuring compliance with IOM financial policies.
Key responsibilities
- Provide procedural guidance, supervise and train finance support staff.
- Manage financial resources, monitor assets, reserves, funds and supplies according to IOM regulations.
- Assist project managers and senior officials with financial and administrative matters, including budget preparation and revisions.
- Consolidate data into financial statements, monitor expenditures, and provide regular financial information for decision‑making.
- Oversee bank reconciliations, payroll processing, disbursements, vendor account maintenance, and audit support.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field with at least four years of relevant experience (or high school diploma with six years of experience).
- Prior experience in international humanitarian or multi‑cultural settings is advantageous.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with SAP is a distinct advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to organize paperwork methodically.
