Senior IFRS9 and Assets and Liabilities Reporting Officer

About the role

A bank is looking for a Senior IFRS9 and Assets and Liabilities Reporting Officer to support the preparation, analysis and monitoring of IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss (ECL) calculations and assets and liabilities reporting. The role ensures accuracy, regulatory compliance and timely submission of financial reports in line with accounting standards, Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) regulations and the bank's internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and analyse IFRS 9 ECL calculations and related financial reports.
• Monitor and assess the classification and measurement of financial assets under IFRS 9.
• Support the preparation of assets and liabilities reports, including balance sheet analysis and financial risk exposure.
• Prepare and review periodic financial and regulatory reports in line with CBJ requirements.
• Analyse financial data, identify discrepancies and ensure the accuracy and completeness of reporting.
• Coordinate with Risk Management, Treasury, Finance and other departments on data consistency.
• Monitor changes in IFRS 9 standards and regulations and support their implementation.
• Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and support internal and external audits.
• Identify improvements to reporting processes, perform reconciliations and investigate variances.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking or a related field.
• Minimum 3-6 years of relevant experience in banking, financial reporting, IFRS 9 or related functions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and reporting skills, with excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Good communication and coordination skills; written and spoken English.
• Preferred: CPA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent certification; experience with banking systems and financial reporting applications; knowledge of credit risk assessment and financial instruments.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of IFRS 9, especially the ECL methodology.
• Good knowledge of assets and liabilities reporting and financial statement analysis.
• Familiarity with Central Bank of Jordan regulations and banking reporting requirements.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
