Senior Internal Auditor – Insurance Sector

About the role

The Internal Audit Department is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to support the Chief Audit Executive in shaping risk‑based audit plans for an insurance organization. You will play a pivotal role in evaluating internal controls, reporting findings, and ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Audit Executive in developing risk‑based internal and operational audit plans.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls across underwriting, claims, and compliance functions.
• Draft clear, concise, and professional audit reports and present results to management.
• Track implementation of audit recommendations and follow up on action plans.
• Stay updated on insurance industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices.
• Provide advisory support while maintaining independence.
• Identify key risks and assess their alignment with the organization’s risk appetite.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Master’s degree and/or professional certifications such as CIA, CPA, or CISA are preferred.
• 5–8 years of internal audit experience within the insurance sector.
• Strong knowledge of auditing standards and internal control frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
• Familiarity with local regulatory bodies (Central Bank of Jordan, insurance regulators).
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
