Senior Investigator (P4)

About the role

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) seeks a Senior Investigator (P4) to lead high‑quality investigations across its operations. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of UNRWA’s programmes by ensuring impartial, objective, and thorough investigative processes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, and coordinate investigations into potential violations of agency rules, including sexual exploitation, fraud, corruption, breaches of neutrality and other misconduct.
• Review complaints and allegations, assess relevance and reliability of information, interview staff and other parties, and collect documentary and electronic evidence.
• Prepare detailed investigative reports, briefings and ad‑hoc analyses for the Chief, Investigations Division.
• Develop recommendations for corrective actions, improved controls and enhanced operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with local authorities, governments and external organisations, securing support such as interpreters and providing best‑practice advice.
• Support field offices and headquarters departments in investigative matters, including participation in intake committees and guidance on terms of reference.
