Senior IT Operations Associate (G7) – Amman

About the role

The Senior IT Operations Associate supports the World Food Programme’s mission in Jordan by ensuring that the IT infrastructure and services underpinning humanitarian operations run smoothly and securely. This fixed‑term position is based in Amman and contributes to delivering food assistance to vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor core IT systems, networks and applications used by WFP staff and partners.
• Provide second‑level technical support and troubleshoot incidents to minimise downtime.
• Ensure compliance with WFP security policies and data protection standards.
• Coordinate with internal units and external service providers to implement upgrades and improvements.
• Document procedures, incidents and resolutions to support knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with several years of experience in IT operations or systems administration.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced humanitarian environment and support mission‑critical services.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is an asset.
