Senior Manager, Safety

About the role

IATA is seeking a Senior Manager, Safety to lead safety initiatives across the MENA region. Reporting to the Head of Safety, you will use IATA’s global safety strategy to improve regional aviation safety performance and support capacity building among airlines, regulators and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Drive regional safety improvement programs using centrally‑coordinated IATA policies and procedures.
• Identify emerging safety issues, assess whether they are systemic or local, and coordinate responses with IATA experts.
• Represent IATA with ICAO regional offices, regulators, and industry groups, ensuring IATA positions are reflected in consultations.
• Develop and implement country‑specific safety strategies and action plans.
• Engage high‑level contacts across airlines, governments, ANSPs and airports to promote the IATA Safety Strategy.

Required profile

• Proven experience in aviation safety management, preferably in a senior or managerial capacity.
• Strong knowledge of regional aviation regulatory frameworks and ICAO processes.
• Excellent stakeholder‑engagement skills with the ability to influence senior officials.
• Ability to work autonomously and lead cross‑functional safety projects.
