Senior Policy and Education Innovation Manager for Early Grade Education

About the role

IREX is seeking a senior professional to lead policy and innovation efforts for early grade education in Jordan. The role will work closely with ministries, donors, universities and other stakeholders to shape a cohesive ecosystem that improves pre‑service and in‑service teacher education and early grade delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Engage Ministry of Education, Ministry of Higher Education, regulators, donors and university partners to review and strengthen policies and incentive structures.
• Facilitate policy dialogue through program steering committees and bilateral meetings.
• Integrate pre‑service and in‑service teacher education systems using data and AI to inform decisions.
• Lead reforms that maximize return on investment and ensure governance frameworks support AI‑driven projects.
• Coordinate with key education actors to align systems, policies and practices across the early grade ecosystem.

Required profile

• Strong research background with unorthodox thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven ability to secure stakeholder buy‑in and build coalitions among senior education leaders.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic.
• Deep understanding of AI and frontier technologies and their impact on educational outcomes.
• Detail‑oriented, entrepreneurial, able to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Demonstrated leadership, integrity and versatility.
