Senior SATCOM Engineer - Tiger Team

About the role

Trace Systems is hiring a Senior SATCOM Engineer for its Tiger Team at the Joint Training Center in Jordan. The engineer designs, installs, maintains and supports LAN, WAN and VoIP infrastructure, provides Tier 2/3 network and RF support, and operates and maintains satellite communications equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, install, maintain and support LAN, WAN and VoIP infrastructures, and provide high-level technical support for voice and data networks.
• Create and maintain network documentation, maintain hardware and software standards, and help upgrade communication equipment and procedures.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for complex enterprise WAN and LAN environments and for advanced RF systems.
• Troubleshoot network and system issues, monitor and resolve service requests within SLAs, and help develop desktop management policies.
• Support best practices for network management, including configuration, monitoring, patch management and security.
• Operate and maintain satellite modems, redundancy switches, up/down converters, HPAs, LNAs, LNBs, antennas, ACUs, UPS, generators and satellite radios.
• Use test measurement and diagnostic equipment beyond built-in-test capabilities, manage telecom installation supplies and inventory, and operate FDMA/TDMA modems and iDirect, Linkway modems and hubs.

Required profile

• Active, in-scope US Government Secret clearance (interim acceptable); US citizenship required.
• Meets DoD 8140 qualification for Network Operations Specialist (Proficiency Level Intermediate).
• At least 10 years of experience supporting installation, repair, troubleshooting or maintenance of satellite communications systems, and 10 years operating and maintaining tactical satellite systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred, or equivalent education/experience combinations.
• Able to travel up to 100% to support the mission.
