Senior Site Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position is a 6‑month contract based in Amman, Jordan. The Senior Site Geotechnical Engineer will plan, supervise and coordinate geotechnical site investigations, ensuring safety, quality and compliance with project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise borehole drilling, soil and rock sampling, and in‑situ testing activities.
• Manage multiple drilling rigs, subcontractors and site personnel.
• Oversee borehole logging, sample collection, field testing and documentation.
• Ensure field work follows approved method statements, project specs and HSE requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, clients and laboratory teams.
• Monitor daily progress, resolve operational challenges and prepare progress reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, geotechnical or related engineering.
• Several years of progressive geotechnical experience, including site‑based and client‑facing roles.
• Strong knowledge of soil behavior, classification, strength, compressibility and permeability.
• Experience with foundation design, retaining structures and ground‑improvement solutions.
• Familiarity with international codes (Eurocode, ASTM, BS, ISO) and geotechnical analysis software.
• Leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel across Jordan.
