Senior TouchDesigner Developer

About the role

We are seeking a senior TouchDesigner Developer to lead the creation of real‑time interactive installations, projection‑mapped environments, and dynamic visual experiences. You will work at the intersection of art, software engineering, and hardware, delivering large‑scale spatial projects for live events and permanent displays.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain modular TouchDesigner networks, components and custom Python extensions.
• Create high‑fidelity generative graphics, real‑time visual feedback loops, and bespoke GLSL shaders (including compute shaders, ray‑marching, SDFs).
• Configure complex multi‑display routing, edge blending, LED walls and projection mapping on custom architectural surfaces.
• Integrate external hardware such as depth cameras, LiDAR, touch walls, floor sensors and lighting systems via OSC, UDP, DMX or custom APIs.
• Profile, debug and optimise node networks to ensure stable 24/7 operation for permanent installations and live setups.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of commercial experience delivering large‑scale interactive projects, exhibitions or live installations using TouchDesigner.
• Deep mastery of TouchDesigner’s operator families (TOPs, CHOPs, SOPs, DATs, COMPs) and object‑oriented Python scripting.
• Proven ability to integrate interactive sensors, tracking cameras and multi‑channel AV hardware into real‑time software.
• Strong understanding of real‑time rendering pipelines and GLSL shader development.
• Self‑directed engineering mindset focused on clean, reusable code and scalable tool design.
