System Administrator

About the role

Acuative is seeking a skilled System Administrator to manage and maintain both Windows and Linux environments. You will ensure high availability, security, and performance of servers and related infrastructure while supporting the organization’s IT service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, update, and maintain Windows Server and Linux operating systems and applications.
• Monitor server health, performance, and security; perform backups, restores, and disaster‑recovery planning.
• Administer Active Directory, user accounts, permissions, and domain security policies.
• Implement patch management, vulnerability assessments, and compliance with standards such as SOC2, PCI‑DSS, and GDPR.
• Collaborate with network and security teams to optimise system integrations and infrastructure resilience.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for deployments, monitoring, and updates.
• Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V) and support hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical assistance to help‑desk staff and end‑users.

Required profile

• Proven experience administering Windows Server and Linux systems in a production environment.
• Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (SOC2, PCI‑DSS, GDPR).
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional IT teams.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
