Transportation Construction Inspector – District 3 (PA)

About the role

We are looking for experienced Transportation Construction Inspectors to oversee highway and bridge projects across District 3 in Pennsylvania. The role involves on‑site supervision, quality control, and ensuring compliance with PennDOT specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications during design and bidding phases.
• Supervise and inspect construction activities on roads and bridges.
• Perform quality‑control checks and document findings in field diaries.
• Evaluate field staff progress and recommend engineering changes.
• Measure daily progress quantities for contractor invoicing.
• Maintain daily logs, record incidents, and communicate contract requirements.
• Travel across varied terrain and coordinate with contractors and agencies.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, or related transportation construction experience.
• GED or high‑school diploma; civil engineering degree preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English clearly.
• Willingness to work extended hours, on‑call, and in adverse weather conditions.

Required skills

• PennDOT Concrete certification.
• NECEP certification.
• Proficiency with electronic devices and construction‑inspection software.
