About the role

A full-time VAS Performance Engineer is sought to monitor, analyze and optimize the performance of Value-Added Services (VAS), ensuring high availability, KPI compliance and an excellent customer experience.

Key responsibilities

Monitor and optimize VAS platforms including USSD, MCN, VMS, RBT, SMSC, MMSC, Anti-Spam and MCC
Analyze KPIs/KQIs, identify performance degradations and carry out root cause analysis
Prepare performance reports, dashboards and improvement recommendations
Coordinate with Core, IP, Transmission and IT teams to resolve end-to-end issues
Drive optimization initiatives, capacity planning and configuration tuning
Support new service rollouts and ensure performance compliance
Develop automation use cases and use analytics tools for proactive monitoring
Present performance insights to customers and internal stakeholders

Required profile

Strong knowledge of VAS architecture and protocols (SMPP, HTTP, SIP, SS7, Diameter)
Hands-on experience with USSD Gateway, SMSC, MMSC, VMS and related VAS platforms
Understanding of 2G/3G/4G/5G core integration with VAS services
Experience with ENIQ, CEM, probes, dashboards or similar performance tools
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with KPI-driven optimization experience
Preferred: experience with telecom operators or vendors such as Ericsson or Huawei

Required skills

Protocol knowledge: SMPP, HTTP, SIP, SS7, Diameter
Preferred: Python or SQL and automation concepts
