ATC Specialist – Liaison (CIC‑1)

About the role

The ATC Specialist – Liaison (CIC‑1) is responsible for the safe and efficient flow of air traffic within the assigned control airspace. Working in a control tower environment, the specialist ensures compliance with ICAO and FAA regulations while maintaining situational awareness of all operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily safe and expeditious flow of air traffic in accordance with ICAO and FAA 7110.65 guidance.
• Apply separation rules and maintain situational awareness of overall traffic flow.
• Coordinate with controllers and personnel to relay safety‑critical and emergency information.
• Oversee vehicles and personnel operating on the airfield.
• Process flight plans and supervise approach, departure, and arrival procedures.
• Maintain full working knowledge of control tower operations, flight planning, and basic radar/manual approach control.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved DoD or FAA ATC course.
• At least eight (8) years of ATC experience, including one (1) year in a similar facility.
• Hold a FAA Control Tower Operator (CTO) certificate, FAA or AOV Credential with Tower rating, or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a FAA Class II Medical Certificate and a US CENTCOM Medical Exam.
• Eligibility for a Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
