Consultant for UNICEF-UNHCR Child Protection Systems Strengthening (Remote)

About the role
The consultant will work jointly with UNHCR and UNICEF to coordinate the implementation of the child protection component of the PROSPECTS initiative, ensuring coherence between humanitarian and development streams and providing technical assistance to country teams.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical support for high‑impact interventions that promote the inclusion of refugee children in national child protection systems.
- Lead strategic policy‑advocacy initiatives and facilitate South‑to‑South learning among governments, civil‑society and UN partners.
- Support the development of learning products, guidance notes and evidence syntheses to accelerate inclusion.
- Coordinate inter‑agency reporting, knowledge management and documentation for the joint programme.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in social work, migration, law, international development or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in child protection, forced displacement or humanitarian‑development programming, including work with UNICEF, UNHCR or similar agencies.
- Demonstrated expertise in national child‑protection system strengthening, refugee inclusion, policy development and systems‑based approaches.
- Proven experience in programme planning, MEAL, donor reporting, resource mobilisation and development of technical proposals.
- Excellent analytical, writing and synthesis skills; fluency in English (additional UN language desirable).
