Disability-inclusive Education Consultant (Remote, 11 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Disability‑inclusive Education Consultant to support the Secretariat of the Leadership Council on Disability‑Inclusive Education. The consultant will work remotely for 11 months, providing technical expertise, coordination and policy guidance to advance inclusive education globally.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate Leadership Council activities, meetings and partnerships with governments, UN agencies, donors and civil society.
• Develop and draft high‑quality policy, technical and advocacy documents for senior stakeholders.
• Support the translation of global commitments into concrete education system reforms in selected UNICEF country offices.
• Provide technical advisory support on evidence‑based approaches and CRPD‑compliant strategies.
• Facilitate synthesis of complex political and technical discussions into clear recommendations and next steps.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in inclusive or special education, international education, human development, social sciences or economics.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in international disability‑inclusion or disability‑inclusive education, with proven knowledge of systems‑level reform and CRPD‑aligned policies.
• Demonstrated experience drafting technical, policy and advocacy outputs for diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑stakeholder partnerships across governments, UN bodies, donors and NGOs.
