Ecommerce Manager

About the role

The Ecommerce Technology Manager will be the strategic and operational leader of the company’s ecommerce technology stack, acting as chief architect and technology owner of the digital platform. This role bridges business, product, and IT to ensure scalability, innovation, reliability, and a customer‑centric experience aligned with growth ambitions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the ecommerce technology roadmap in line with business and customer experience goals.
• Own the technology for web, mobile, marketplace integrations and omnichannel touchpoints.
• Partner with the Ecommerce Director on strategic digital commerce decisions.
• Lead platform architecture and system integrations (ERP, OMS, CRM, PIM, payments, logistics, loyalty, marketplace APIs).
• Evaluate, implement and optimise solutions such as cloud hosting, microservices, headless commerce, AI‑driven personalization, and search & merchandising engines.
• Ensure cybersecurity, compliance and data‑privacy standards across all digital platforms.
• Manage cross‑functional delivery across internal IT teams, third‑party vendors and solution providers.
• Own incident management, system reliability, uptime and performance KPIs.
• Oversee deployment cycles, testing frameworks and release management for new features.
• Drive digital innovation by piloting AI, AR/VR shopping, conversational commerce and data‑driven personalization.
• Support marketplace and omnichannel initiatives including fulfillment technology, digital payments and last‑mile integrations.
• Lead a team of developers, solution architects, service desk staff and technology vendors while liaising between business leadership and IT.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in ecommerce technology management, architecture or digital platforms, preferably in retail or marketplace environments.
• Proven track record of leading end‑to‑end digital platforms such as Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, SAP Hybris, Shopify Plus or custom headless solutions.
• Strong knowledge of cloud hosting, microservices, integration patterns and cybersecurity best practices.
