Education & Early Childhood Development Technical Advisor (MENAU)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking an Education and Early Childhood Development (ECD) Technical Advisor to provide temporary coverage during a parental leave. This fixed‑term position runs from 1 September 2026 to 1 March 2027 and focuses exclusively on the Middle East, North Africa & Ukraine (MENAU) region.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct technical assistance to MENAU country programmes identified as strategic priorities for education and ECD innovation, growth, and research.
• Collaborate closely with the regional Education Technical Advisor and sector‑specific technical advisors (Child Protection, Nutrition, Primary Health, Mental Health, Economic Recovery & Development, Women’s Protection).
• Apply the Nurturing Care Framework to guide interventions for children from pre‑natal age through eight years.
• Generate evidence, share learning, and support the development of context‑relevant technical guidance.
• Coordinate with the Technical Excellence department to align assistance with the IRC Technical Assistance model and service charter.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in education, early childhood development, or related humanitarian sectors.
• Familiarity with the Nurturing Care Framework and its multi‑sectoral linkages.
• Ability to work across diverse, conflict‑affected contexts within the MENAU region.
• Strong analytical and evidence‑generation skills.
• Excellent collaboration and coordination capabilities with regional and country teams.
