Fraud Monitoring & Detection Officer

About the role

The Fraud Monitoring & Detection Officer is responsible for safeguarding the bank’s assets by continuously monitoring transactions, identifying suspicious activity, and preventing fraud. This role combines analytical expertise with a deep understanding of banking products and regulatory requirements to support effective fraud investigations and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily banking transactions and investigate fraud alerts and suspicious activities.
• Analyze data to uncover fraud patterns, trends, and emerging risks.
• Take initial actions to contain and prevent fraud in line with bank policies.
• Prepare periodic fraud reports, statistics, and management recommendations.
• Support the enhancement and tuning of fraud detection systems and monitoring tools.
• Stay up‑to‑date with regulatory requirements and global fraud trends.
• Develop fraud awareness materials for employees and customers.
• Participate in Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and emergency response activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in banking, with a focus on fraud detection or prevention.
• Strong knowledge of banking products, cards, electronic channels and financial forgery.
• Understanding of operational risk, AML, BCP and relevant local/international regulations.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, communication and decision‑making skills.
• Good command of English.
