Freelance Peer Reviewer – Civil, Mechanical & Computer Science

About the role

We are seeking experienced researchers to provide high‑quality peer reviews for academic journals and publishers in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science. This freelance position allows you to contribute your expertise while working on a flexible schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty and originality of submitted manuscripts.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility.
• Verify that literature reviews are comprehensive and up‑to‑date.
• Analyse results and conclusions for clarity and scientific soundness.
• Provide constructive, clear, and concise feedback to authors.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD/MD) or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
• At least two peer‑review‑eligible publications within the last two years.
• Strong understanding of research methodologies and ethical standards.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems (e.g., ScholarOne, Editorial Manager).
