Head of Cards – Lead End-to-End Cards Business

About the role

We are seeking a senior leader to head the end‑to‑end cards business for a leading financial institution in Amman. The Head of Cards will define the cards strategy, drive portfolio growth, manage P&L and oversee the technology ecosystem that powers card issuance, digital payments and fraud management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the cards product roadmap, including new card propositions, rewards programmes, co‑branding and instalment solutions.
• Lead portfolio acquisition, activation and spend growth while managing the cards P&L and cost optimisation.
• Oversee card operations, fraud and disputes management and ensure robust risk and compliance governance.
• Manage vendor relationships and integration with payment networks (Visa, Mastercard) and digital payment innovations such as tokenisation and mobile wallets.
• Build and mentor cross‑functional teams and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Finance, IT or related field; MBA preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in cards and payments within a bank or financial institution.
• Proven leadership experience delivering complex product and technology initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of card schemes, card management systems and digital payments.
