About the role

The Head of Development leads the technical direction and overall strategy of the development team, ensuring alignment with the company’s business objectives. This senior position is responsible for managing the entire team lifecycle, fostering a collaborative culture, and driving continuous improvement across all development processes.

Key responsibilities

• Set technical direction and strategy for the development team, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
• Manage the full team lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, setting performance goals, and conducting reviews.
• Foster a positive, productive work environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.
• Promote continuous improvement by identifying optimization opportunities and introducing new technologies or processes.
• Leverage deep understanding of software development methodologies, architecture, and best practices to guide decision‑making.
• Establish quality assurance processes, conduct code reviews, and implement testing strategies to ensure high reliability and quality standards.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest industry trends and maintain strong technical knowledge.
• Oversee project planning, resourcing, and execution to ensure accurate timelines and effective resource allocation.
• Act as the bridge between development and other departments (Product, Marketing, Operations), translating technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships with diverse teams and communicate effectively across organizational boundaries.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience, including 8+ years designing and building scalable enterprise software.
• At least 7 years of experience managing development teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
