Hockey Camp On‑Ice Specialist

About the role

The Hockey Camp On‑Ice Specialist will serve as a role model and ambassador for McGill, delivering a safe, engaging, and instructional ice‑hockey experience for children aged 7‑12 during a week‑long summer camp.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome campers, conduct orientation, and liaise with parents about individual needs and progress.
• Plan and deliver six one‑hour on‑ice sessions for up to 30 campers per session, adapting lessons to age groups and skill levels.
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed, respond to emergencies, and coordinate with Winsor Clinic staff when medical attention is required.
• Monitor camper movement between activities, maintain clear communication with section leaders, and address any issues promptly.

Required profile

• High school diploma with at least two years of related experience.
• Playing experience at major junior, junior A, or university level.
• Coaching experience with youth hockey.
• Completed Safe Sport Training and True Sport Clean certifications.

Required skills

• Knowledge of camp operations and safety procedures.
• Ability to develop and adapt lesson plans for diverse skill levels.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with campers, parents, and staff.

What we offer

• Hourly compensation of $35.00.
• Part‑time, fixed‑term employment for the duration of the camp (August 14‑21, 2026).
