About the role
The Jordan INGO Forum Director leads the coordination and advocacy platform for international NGOs operating in Jordan. This senior position ensures the Forum remains relevant, effective, and aligned with the strategic needs of its member organisations.
Key responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership to the INGO Forum, fostering delegation, accountability and teamwork.
- Facilitate high‑quality, regular meetings of Country Directors and thematic working groups.
- Ensure transparent coordination mechanisms and regular information sharing between INGOs and other stakeholders.
- Represent INGO interests at national and global platforms, influencing strategic decision‑making.
- Develop, review and implement the JIF Advocacy Strategy in collaboration with the Advocacy Working Group.
- Oversee budgeting, budget management and financial accountability with support from finance and grants teams.
- Manage the Secretariat staff and consultants, promoting staff well‑being and responsiveness.
- Act as focal point for information and experience sharing among NGOs, maintaining membership and contact lists.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in a protracted crisis or post‑conflict setting with an INGO in a senior management role (e.g., Country Director).
- Proven high‑profile management and advocacy experience in conflict‑affected countries.
- Knowledge of the Jordan context or prior work in the region.
- Experience coordinating humanitarian and development actors, preferably in coalition or secretariat functions.
Required skills
- Fluent written and spoken English with strong writing and editing abilities.
- Knowledge of Arabic is an added value.
