Purchasing Manager

About the role

Alfanar Projects is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement activities across its projects and business units, ensuring the timely supply of goods and services that meet internal and external customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic supplier management, including selection, qualification, contracts and negotiations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of KSA customs, clearance policies and related legal requirements.
• Collaborate with support functions to align purchasing needs and approve comparison sheets within authorization limits.
• Negotiate, sign and manage contracts/orders for materials and services, and prepare pre‑negotiations for high‑value contracts.
• Monitor market trends, pricing and delivery conditions to ensure material availability.
• Identify and qualify strong suppliers and logistics providers to build a consolidated supplier base.
• Analyse purchase request and order status reports, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Draft contracts in coordination with legal advisors and set yearly supply‑chain objectives.
• Measure performance against goals and report results to senior management.
• Oversee staff training related to purchasing processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of procurement experience in a technical field such as civil, electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of international procurement practices and Incoterms.
• Proven experience drafting and managing service contracts with awareness of tax and legal implications.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• Proficiency with ERP and procurement software.
