Regional Finance Director – AMEE (Remote)

About the role

Mercy Corps is seeking a Regional Finance Director to lead financial management for its Asia, Middle East and Europe (AMEE) portfolio. This senior position works remotely, supporting award implementation, compliance, and strategic financial oversight across multiple country programs.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Finance Directors, Managers, and the Regional Controller to ensure consistent application of Mercy Corps’ financial best practices.
• Conduct periodic support visits to country programs following approved scopes of work.
• Monitor financial performance of the regional portfolio, identifying strengths, weaknesses, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop and implement strategies to strengthen financial management systems and promote continuous improvement.
• Provide monthly financial reviews and reporting to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Significant experience in financial management within an international or nonprofit context.
• Proven ability to work with senior leadership, including VP of International Finance and Deputy Regional Director.
• Experience overseeing regional portfolios and conducting on‑the‑ground support visits.
