Assistant Architect Design (Architectural Modeling & 3D Visualization)

About the role

UNRWA is recruiting an Assistant Architect Design in Amman to support preliminary and detailed architectural design for building projects such as schools, health centers, shelters, warehouses, administrative buildings, landscaping and rehousing projects. The incumbent develops accurate 3D models, photorealistic renderings, walkthroughs and animations that support design review, stakeholder consultation, donor presentations, project approvals and implementation planning. The supervisor is the Architect Design Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Support preliminary and detailed architectural design in line with Agency needs, policies, design criteria, standards and local and international codes of practice.
• Maintain and apply standard architectural details using relevant software, and prepare and review drawings prepared by Technical Assistants/CAD.
• Develop detailed interior and exterior 3D models for buildings, public spaces and site-development projects, at the right level of detail for concept presentation, design development, construction coordination and communication.
• Create realistic architectural components, furniture, fixtures, equipment, landscape elements and surroundings, keeping 3D files well structured, optimized and editable.
• Produce high-resolution photorealistic exterior and interior renderings with materials, textures, lighting, shadows and environmental effects, including daytime, nighttime, aerial and eye-level views, and master plans, site layouts, perspectives, diagrams and exploded views.
• Ensure visual outputs are technically accurate and consistent with approved architectural and engineering designs.
• Develop architectural walkthroughs, fly-throughs, virtual tours and animated presentations, preparing storyboards, camera paths and scene sequences, and produce HD movies, still frames and presentation clips.

Required profile

• University degree in Architecture Engineering, or Interior Architecture/Interior Design.
• At least three years of relevant experience, including at least two years designing public buildings and developing detailed 3D models for buildings, public spaces and site-development projects.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic (UN Level II).
• Desirable: knowledge of greening approaches and protection needs, and a good understanding of the context of Palestine refugees and UNRWA operations.
