Associate – Capital Markets & Corporate Finance

About the role

The Associate will support clients in raising capital in the markets and provide strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and other financial transactions. Working closely with senior bankers, the role acts as a strategic advisor, formulating investment strategies and facilitating trade execution.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior bankers to deliver relationship‑management support.
• Provide treasury and corporate‑finance solutions including cash management, trade finance, FX, loans, debt capital markets, share repurchases and derivatives.
• Support cross‑selling of Citi’s product suite and generate revenue by addressing client needs.
• Coordinate marketing and execution activities with bankers, analysts and international offices.
• Assess credit, transactional and franchise risks, prepare credit approvals and supervise transaction calculations.
• Analyse public filings, research reports and financial forecasts to produce strategic insights.
• Stay updated on market trends and best practices while ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of relevant experience in lending, credit or related product areas.
• MBA or Master’s degree in Business preferred; Bachelor’s degree required.
• Proven experience with large corporate clients and capital‑markets products.
• Strong understanding of corporate‑banking regulations, credit approval processes and risk mitigation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated planning, negotiation, organizational and analytical abilities.
