Associate Scientist, Analytical Research

About the role

Hikma Pharmaceuticals is seeking an Associate Scientist to support analytical research in its Amman R&D centre. You will design and execute laboratory projects, analyse data, and contribute to the development of new pharmaceutical products and technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Implement analytical research activities, including project initiation, experimental design, routine procedures and reporting.
• Operate and maintain sensitive analytical instruments and prepare chemical solutions safely.
• Develop basic pharmaceutical formulations and support scale‑up/technology transfer activities.
• Prepare clear written reports, publications and technical documentation.
• Summarise study results, generate new hypotheses and design follow‑up experiments.
• Monitor scientific literature and emerging technologies to keep the team informed.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to solve technical challenges and achieve project objectives.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities for processes, cost reduction and productivity.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D or a laboratory setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.
• Ability to work with oncology/potent products and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Flexibility to work night shifts as required.
• Very good written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with SAP (preferred).
• Knowledge of FDA Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
