Child Protection Consultant for Parenting Violence Prevention

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a senior consultant to provide technical assistance on parenting interventions that prevent violence against children. The consultant will work remotely with the Child Protection and Social Behaviour Change (SBC) teams of UNICEF’s Centres of Excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical support to UNICEF country offices and governments on SBC‑informed parenting programmes.
• Assist in the development, adaptation and scale‑up of integrated parenting strategies within national systems.
• Document good practices and contribute to global and regional guidance on violence prevention.
• Facilitate cross‑country learning and strengthen practical SBC resources for diverse contexts.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Child Protection, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, Sociology, International Development, Education, Social and Behaviour Change, or a related social science.
• Minimum eight (8) years of professional experience in child protection, violence prevention, or SBC‑focused programming.
• Proven experience providing technical assistance to governments or international organisations.
