Commis B – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Commis B supports the culinary team by preparing ingredients, cooking, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. This full‑time position works on‑site at the Marriott hotel in Amman.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients: portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble dishes, including cold foods, while adhering to quality, presentation and food‑preparation checklists.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, and test foods for proper cooking.
• Maintain workstation cleanliness, disinfect tools, knives and equipment, and ensure correct appliance temperatures.
• Follow company safety policies, report hazards, and complete required safety training.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related kitchen experience.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.
• Professional appearance and ability to communicate clearly.

Required skills

• Food preparation and basic cooking techniques.
• Operation of standard kitchen equipment (ovens, grills, fryers, etc.).
