Communications and Advocacy Consultant

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Communications and Advocacy Consultant to strengthen strategic advocacy and communications support for regional priorities. The consultant will work remotely for a 12‑month period, contributing to visibility and partnership efforts on water, sanitation, climate change and related issues.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement advocacy and communications strategies aligned with regional and country‑level priorities.
• Coordinate and document partnership activities, donor reporting and knowledge‑management outputs.
• Produce high‑quality advocacy materials, reports, and content for external and internal audiences.
• Amplify UNICEF’s messaging through appropriate channels and ensure consistency with UNICEF branding.
• Support the preparation of regional visibility products and facilitate knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Knowledge Management, International Development, Partnership Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in communications, advocacy, knowledge management or partnership management, preferably in the development/humanitarian sector.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Arabic or French is an asset.

Required skills

• Strong experience in developing advocacy and communications strategies and products.
• Proven track record in knowledge management, partnership coordination and donor reporting.
• Excellent writing and editing skills for external and internal audiences.
• Familiarity with UNICEF branding and content strategies (preferred).
