Cost Controller

About the role

The Cost Controller will provide full cost‑control coverage for the Jordan entity, ensuring that management receives accurate and timely visibility over project and operating costs, commitments, work‑in‑progress, accruals, budgets and cost‑to‑complete. The role combines accounting expertise with strong analytical skills to support both internal decision‑making and external reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Own cost‑control activities for Jordan, capturing project and operating costs accurately and on time.
• Track project budgets, commitments, actual costs, accruals, purchase orders, subcontractor costs and other cost drivers.
• Perform cost reconciliations across operational systems, procurement, warehouse, AP, payroll and the general ledger.
• Monitor WIP, cost‑to‑complete, unbilled costs and project‑related accruals in coordination with Finance and Operations.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, budget‑versus‑actual analysis, cost‑to‑complete analysis and explain material variances.
• Review cost allocation methodologies to ensure correct assignment to projects, cost centres, profit centres and analytic dimensions.
• Support revenue recognition and project accounting by providing reliable cost data for percentage‑of‑completion and IFRS 15 assessments.
• Identify cost leakage, duplicate charges, unapproved spend and control weaknesses, recommending corrective actions.
• Assist month‑end close, audit requests and management reporting with complete cost‑control schedules.
• Drive cost visibility and automation through Odoo/ERP, Excel/Power Query/Tableau dashboards and standardized reporting.

Required profile

• Knowledge of Jordanian statutory accounting requirements and Group reporting standards.
• Experience in cost control and project accounting within an ERP environment.

Required skills

• Odoo or comparable ERP system
• Advanced Excel, Power Query and Tableau for data analysis and reporting
• Understanding of IFRS 15 and percentage‑of‑completion accounting
• Cost accounting and project accounting techniques
• Financial reporting and month‑end close processes
