Country Director – Retail Business

About the role

The Country Director will lead and grow the retail business in the assigned country, overseeing commercial performance, operational excellence, profitability, and strategic expansion. This senior position reports to the Regional Director/CEO and is accountable for delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Own the country’s P&L, set and achieve revenue and profit targets.
• Develop and execute the annual business plan and budget.
• Lead day‑to‑day store operations, ensuring brand standards, visual merchandising, and customer service consistency.
• Monitor financial performance, KPIs, and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and drive new store openings, relocations, renovations, or closures.
• Negotiate lease terms and maintain relationships with landlords.
• Recruit, coach, and retain high‑performing teams; conduct performance reviews and succession planning.
• Optimize inventory levels and collaborate with merchandising and supply‑chain teams.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety, and local regulations.
• Represent the company with government authorities, partners, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience owning a country‑level P&L and delivering revenue targets.
• Strong background in retail operations and commercial business development.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and retain large teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer behaviour.
