Evaluation Officer – Temporary Appointment (364 days)

About the role

UNICEF Jordan is seeking an Evaluation Officer to lead the implementation of the Country Programme’s Costed Evaluation Plan and ad‑hoc evaluations. This temporary appointment (364 days) supports evidence‑based decision‑making across child protection, education, health, WASH and social protection programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, plan and manage evaluations in line with UNICEF’s evaluation standards and the Costed Evaluation Plan.
• Develop evaluation tools, data‑collection protocols and sampling frameworks.
• Coordinate field data collection, ensure data quality and oversee analysis.
• Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports, synthesize findings and formulate actionable recommendations.
• Facilitate learning workshops with programme teams and stakeholders to integrate evaluation results into programme improvement.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with UNICEF’s monitoring and reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in social sciences, development studies, statistics, public health or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience conducting evaluations or monitoring and evaluation in international development or humanitarian settings.
• Strong understanding of UNICEF’s programme areas and evaluation methodology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is an asset.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment and manage multiple deadlines.
