External Auditor

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time, on‑site External Auditor to join our team in Damascus. The role involves auditing financial statements and internal controls to ensure compliance with applicable standards and client policies. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high‑quality audit reports.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute audit engagements for financial statements and internal controls.
• Perform risk assessments and test transactions and balances.
• Document audit findings and prepare clear work papers and audit reports.
• Discuss audit observations with clients and recommend process improvements.
• Collaborate with team members to meet engagement deadlines and uphold professional ethics.
• Contribute to the continuous enhancement of audit methodologies and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in external auditing or assurance services.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA or CIA are an advantage.
• Demonstrated integrity, professional ethics and a willingness to learn.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities to handle multiple engagements.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of auditing standards and IFRS.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, risk assessment and internal control evaluation.
• Ability to prepare accurate audit documentation, reports and working papers.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with audit or accounting software tools.
