Field Officer – Community Engagement & Project Coordination

About the role

The Field Officer will serve as AVSI’s primary point of contact in Makawer, fostering relationships with local authorities, community groups and project partners. The role ensures smooth implementation of project activities, supports cultural heritage data collection and assists local micro‑enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain regular communication with local authorities, associations and community stakeholders.
• Lead stakeholder mapping, engagement strategy and build strategic relationships.
• Coordinate with partner FPEC on beneficiary selection and project implementation.
• Develop and follow weekly/monthly activity plans and report progress to the Project Manager.
• Identify operational risks, propose solutions and support corrective actions.
• Supervise youth teams collecting cultural heritage data and ensure data accuracy.
• Organise trainings, manage logistics and monitor trainee attendance and results.
• Assist MSMEs and home‑based businesses, coordinate equipment delivery and monitor sustainability.
• Facilitate community meetings and ensure transparent communication.

Required profile

• Proven experience coordinating field‑based activities or community projects (NGO experience preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Heritage, Social Work, Development, Humanitarian Studies or related field.
• Excellent oral and written Arabic communication skills.
• Strong organisational, teamwork and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Experience working with governmental entities, local communities and youth groups.
• Supervisory and monitoring experience for field staff.
• Strong reporting and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and operate independently.
