Field Officer – Makawer (National Position)

About the role

The Field Officer will coordinate the implementation of the RISE project activities in Makawer, Jordan. Working closely with local authorities, community groups and AVSI partners, the officer will ensure that project interventions are adapted to the local context and delivered on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Act as AVSI’s focal point in Makawer, maintaining regular communication with local authorities, associations and community stakeholders.
• Lead stakeholder mapping and engagement strategy, building and maintaining strategic relationships with local leaders.
• Coordinate with partner FPEC on beneficiary selection and implementation of project activities.
• Develop and follow weekly/monthly activity plans, tracking progress against the shared calendar.
• Identify, analyze and mitigate operational risks, proposing corrective actions to the Project Manager.
• Supervise youth contractors involved in mapping and collecting tangible and intangible cultural heritage data.

Required profile

• Residency in Makawer or ability to commute daily to the site.
• Fluency in Arabic (required for community engagement and reporting).
• Strong understanding of humanitarian and development contexts.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
