Global Child Online Protection Consultant (Remote, travel)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a consultant to strengthen its work on child online protection. The role will support EU digital policy advocacy, global thought leadership and regional initiatives, providing expert analysis on emerging digital risks affecting children.

Key responsibilities

• Advance UNICEF’s positions in EU legislative processes related to AI, platform regulation and online safety.
• Lead high‑visibility convenings and multisector engagements to promote child online protection.
• Produce strategic analyses and high‑quality outputs on emerging digital threats and regulatory debates.
• Provide technical and strategic support to UNICEF staff and partners at regional and country levels.
• Contribute to the African Task Force on Child Online Protection and other regional efforts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in child online protection, digital policy or related fields.
• Strong understanding of EU digital legislation and global regulatory trends.
• Ability to produce concise, evidence‑based analysis for senior decision‑makers.
• Experience working with international organisations, NGOs or UN agencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
