Grants Officer – Fixed Term

About the role

The Grants Officer will support strategic grantmaking across multiple programmes, ensuring compliance, data integrity and timely delivery of funding. Working in a hybrid setting between Berlin and Amman, the role reports to the Associate Director of Grants Management.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑award and post‑award due diligence, ensuring alignment with funder requirements and Open Society policies.
• Manage equivalency determinations, non‑US funded grant administration and close‑out processes.
• Coordinate with Finance, Compliance, Communications and IT to prepare audit documentation, financial statements and grant payments.
• Train staff on Grants Management processes, including use of GrantSmith and Power BI.
• Monitor grant compliance, payment schedules, program budgets and regulatory risks such as OFAC, COI and data‑privacy requirements.
• Develop, document and revise Grants Management policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Experience in grant administration, due diligence and compliance monitoring.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (OFAC, sanctions, data privacy).
• Ability to work collaboratively across finance, legal and programme teams.

• Power BI (data analysis and reporting)
